Honestly, this is probably one of the better ways a situation like this could be handled, but I always thought that hate should be countered with understanding. Somebody should sit down with this preacher and tell him why homophobia is wrong, but not downplaying how he feels or being condescending. That’s exactly how I became more tolerant of trans people.
